Torrey Pines Stiper

It isn’t everyday you can pull out a striper from a Southern California beach! Not a huge one, but it fought above it’s weight class for sure!

While I can certainly target certain species from the surf, the rarity of stipers in our waters makes them hard to fish for specifically.

This little guy decided he wanted my sandcrab more than the usual suspects that day (a whole lot of baby corbina, yellowfin croakers, and barred surf perch).

Luck was with me.
